Husband of woman whose cancer was ‘missed by doctors 12 times’ begs for donations to keep …

A dad whose wife’s cancer was missed 12 times by medics has made an emotional plea for more cash to stop treatment being halted.

Liam Major, of Silsden, West Yorkshire, said he was “literally begging” for donations so wife Sally could continue to receive advanced immunotherapies not available on the NHS.

Sally has already undergone two spells at Hallwang Clinic near Stuttgart but funds for a third round have dried up.

Almost £32,000 was raised by more than 1,800 well wishers after an appeal launched at the start of the year – but now more cash is needed.

Liam said he is desperate to fund further treatment following its “amazing results” but said the family’s finances had been “drained”.

He wrote on Facebook: “Unfortunately this week has cost us 26,000 euros – 15,000 euros more than anticipated and our money has finally run out.

“Unless we get at least 10,000 euros together by Thursday we will quite literally have nowhere to go.

“Sally can barely stand for a second, has lost all muscle mass and we’re not able to get her home. Equally we can’t afford to stay here so have no option.

“I am literally begging. I can’t let my wife and amazing mum of my kids deteriorate, suffer and ultimately pass while knowing there’s treatment available that works.

Sally was told Christmas would be her last

“We have no more options for money, nothing, done. I have never been so desperate so quickly, please I beg anything anyone can give.”

Sally visited doctors 12 times to complain about aches and pains but by the time the cancer was detected in May 2015, her bowel was completely obstructed by a massive tumour.

Mr Major said he could sell his house but that the cash would not come quick enough to affect his wife’s health.

He attached pictures of bank statements and treatment bills as evidence of the family’s predicament.
